Class 2 Geoglyph - Astronaut/Bird Group

Unlike most Nazca symbols, the astronaut is located on the side of a hill and is visible from the desert below.

The famous astronaut is distinctly different from many of the Nazca sysmbol, and falls into the same group as the hillside bird.

Notice the long lines on either side of the astronaut

Because of the inclined position of the astronaut, it may have been subjected to more erosion than the flat symbols on the desert below

It's all about the lighting - in this photo you can clearly see that there are aditional geoglypgh to the immediate left of the Astronaut/Owlman
